It’s finally becoming official. ABC News has joined the AP in saying that Barack Obama can now officially be called ‘the presumptive nominee.’
Other news sources like NBC News still have Obama needing 11 delegates. While this is just parsing words at this point, it seems this Democratic Primary Race is finally over.
So, I shall […]

After a nine month battle with cancer, Sydney Pollack passed away today. With several Oscars and nominations, Pollack was a director, producer, and actor involved in projects such as MICHAEL CLAYTON, OUT OF AFRICA, THE FIRM, THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR, and TOOTSIE.
An avid fan of the political world…
He will be missed.

Really?
According to the Portland Police Department, 75,000 people attended Barack Obama’s rally today in Portland, Oregon.
Let me repeat that: 75,000
Let me repeat again, 75,000!
What? I don’t know what this really says except that it remains to be one of the most impressive gatherings of people to listen to a candidate in history. I […]

Ron Paul raised a lot of money. You’d think, with his army of supporters, he’d be able to have a proper and good look ad. He was running for President after all.
Instead, what did he come up with?
This high class ad. I think it had the worst acting this side of a C-grade horror […]

I have to admit, I like John Edwards. He seems like a pretty decent guy. Today’s video features an issue that seemed to dog Edwards throughout much of last year. What was that issue?
His hair.
In the middle of the campaign, it was revealed that John Edwards spent $400 on his haircuts. Really?
Well, this video […]

As we’re quickly approaching the official end of the primary season, we have no more than 2-3 months before John McCain and Barack Obama announce their VP choices. So, who’s it going to be?
Well, we’ll start with their top ten, and narrow it down until we come up with a decision. Of course, your opinions […]

Sigh.
Many Republicans like scaring the public. The more they talk about terrorism, the more they win. Errr…well, discounting 2006, and so far in the special elections of 2008.
So, our first politician to get back to back funnies is Mitt Romney, in his attempt to be the most Republican of Republican candidates.
How does he […]

The issue of illegal immigration is about as hot button of an issue as they get, especially within the Republican party.
While Rudy Giuliani moves to attack Mitt Romney for hiring illegal immigrants to work on his home (which he jabs is a mansion), Romney responds with something that is surely quite offensive, labeling immigrants as […]

Since North Carolina and Indiana, the news media has started to wonder, when will Hillary drop out?
Tim Russert and others have said that “We now know who the Democratic nominee will be.” Time Magazine’s new front page even says “And the winner is…” Finally, Rasmussen, a pollster, has said that they will stop polling within […]

In another new series, Jon from THE DC TRAVELER and I will participate in a series we call, “COMMENTS ON CONTROVERY,” a once a month, point - counterpoint discussion of a topic happening here in D.C. (See bottom of post for a link to his viewpoint.)
Today’s topic: Public Ping Pong
That’s right. According to yesterday’s Washington […]
